Only 5 more sleeps...

...Till our wedding!! Well I (Adam) finished work and managed to refrain from heading out with my rugby team on a 'pub golf' night the night before I flew out. This was especially a good idea as I hadn't packed and we wont be back in England for a couple of months now. I saw Melinda again for the first time in a month and she instantly started laughing at me when she saw my 'Movember' moustache. I grew a 'mo' for charity in 'Movember' and I had chosen Merv Hughes, Australian legend cricketer as my inspiration! I had even managed to raise 60 pounds for charity by not shaving it off for the month!

It has been a fairly hectic time so far with people to see, suits to organise, a million other things to arrange. On top of this we had to pause to have our hen's and buck's (stag for Brits) parties. Who would have thought there was this much effort needed to hang out in a church for half an hour and then have a party?

I probably wont get to update this until after the wedding. But afterwards we have 10 days free time before we jet off on honeymoon on Boxing Day. From Melbourne we go to LA, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela and New York and then back to the flat in London. I think we might have a couple of stories to tell after that trip!!!

Sister married and not long till ours...

Ben and Marisa
I (Adam) am back in London now after a very brief visit home for about 6 days for my sisters wedding. I managed to spend around 50 hours on planes in 8 days which allowed me to catch up on a few movies as well as get horribly jetlagged after trying to make my second 11 hour time zone adjustment in a week.

My favourite picture

The wedding was great and I must admit my sister looked fantastic and everyone seemed to have a good time. Now I am back in London until the 2nd of December to do a bit of work before I go back. Nothing too much has been happening since the last post as we have been toning down our usual holidaying activities to try and save for our wedding. Although having said that, I am off to Glasgow in 2 weekends for a mates stag weekend (bucks do for Aussies).

Success at last with a visa

The trip back to Australia was for one reason - to complete the process of getting our new visa for the UK. And despite filling out the wrong form and starting to decend in to a panic when I realised this on the day before I was due to fly out again - it arrived that day!!

Danni Minogue and cops on the plane

I (Adam) am back in London now and Melinda is staying in Australia until the new visa comes through for her. The flight back was as boring as you would expect with a couple of exceptions.

I was walking through Melbourne airport and I looked at this tiny little woman and though 'Gee you look like Kylie Minogue.....oh, you're Danni Minogue!!' Naturally I immediately phoned Melinda who is a massive Kylie fan to brag. I saw her again in the airport in Hong Kong and I must say she looks better in person than she does in her photos!!

Just in case you forgot what Danni looks like...

Anyhow, when we got to London everyone was instructed to remain in their seats as police were going to board the plane to 'conduct a search'. They came on and went straight towards to blokes who were escorted off the plane with their hand luggage.

Its now the morning after and I will be out to the airport again shortly to meet my Mum and Dad who are coming over for a visit.

Knackered after a month on the sauce in Australia

Well I have been very slack and not updated the blog for a month now. I am sitting at Melbourne airport waiting for my flight which has been delayed and trying not to fall asleep. It has been a month of solid socialising, eating, drinking, eating and drinking.

On the trip I managed to:
- Attend a bucks day,
- Take my mum out for dinner for her birthday,
- Go camping in the bush with my Dad,
- Spend a couple of days wake boarding and beers with an old mate,
- Attend a wedding
- Look at and choose a venue for our own upcoming wedding,
- Meet people for a quick beer only to finish 8 or 9 hours later (several times),
- Go out for dinner a few times with friends,
- Go to Darwin to see my sister,
- Meet some old mates for a large Anzac day back in Melbourne

And after all that I still missed out on seeing a couple of people. But my liver has given me a stern talking to and I hope to stay off the grog for at least 2 or 3 days. (Does the 24 hours on the plane count??!!)

My mum and dad are leaving to come and visit and arrive in London 24 hours after I do. So I don't know that I'll be getting much of a break...

A quick trip home

For a couple of weeks in January I (Adam) went back to Australia for my friends wedding. I flew in to Melbourne and went straight back to my parents house where I tried to stay awake for the rest of the day! I spent about 10 days in glorious Victoria, where I was delivered 10 days of crap surf, variable weather and loads of Carlton Draft (Victorian Beer). I didnt get to catch up with everyone I wanted to, and the 10 days flew.

Soon enough I was in Brisbane, getting my kilt for my mates wedding! It was a top 5 days in Brisbane, stinking hot weather for someone who is used to top temperatures of 6 deg C in London! The wedding was great and there was plenty of people asking what we had on underneath the kilt!

All too soon, I was back in London and back to work and back to top temperatures of 6 deg C. Time to start planning the next holiday!
